Focus:
Part 3 in this article series on using duty cycle as a means of detecting overloads in
an SMPS extends the concept from the case where input voltage is fixed to the case
where input voltage varies over a wide range. In this latter case, the reference
threshold voltage used to detect overload must change. This article describes a method
for making this adjustment of the reference threshold value.
