Previous parts of this article described how a switching power supply’s duty cycle can
be used to trigger overload protection for the cases where 1) VIN is a relatively
stable or unchangeable input or 2) the supply voltage may change within wide limits.
Here in part 4, more details are given on how to implement these two forms of overload
protection in the same circuit. A diagram shows that, in the buck converter design
example, two protection circuits are switch selectable.
