Focus:
The efficiency of ATX power supplies can be improved by 1) switching from passive power factor correction (PFC) to active PFC, 2) changing from traditional single-switch forward topology with reset winding to a forward topology with active clamp reset or a half-bridge topology in the main power stage 3) switching from Schottky rectifiers to synchronous MOSFET rectifiers and 4) other component improvements.
