Focus:
The 18-part series “The Engineers Guide To EMI In DC-DC Converters, which was published in
How2Power Today,” was a comprehensive work on designing dc-dc converters to achieve low
EMI and pass electromagnetic compliance (EMC) standards. It was particularly oriented
toward automotive and industrial applications, but with principles that apply broadly to
any products that must pass EMC. Texas Instruments’ e-book provides a condensed, 70-page
version of parts 1-9 of this series. In addition to its relative brevity, this version has
the benefit of the author’s introduction, a glossary of EMI- and EMC-related terms, and a
handy compilation of the references cited.
