Focus:
VPT's isolated dc-dc converter modules can be series connected to generate various power supply output voltages as explained in this 4-min. video. The video discusses stacking of the two outputs of a dual-output converter, as well as stacking of the outputs of multiple single-output converters. Following the white board explanation, the presenter does a lab demo in which he stacks the +12-V and -12-V outputs of a dual converter to obtain a single 24-V output. As the presenter discusses, the converters must be isolated in order to configure the outputs as described. With nonisolated converters, the outputs may not be connected in series.
