Focus:
Analog Devices’ ADM1041 secondary-side power supply controller and power management IC features an SMBus interface , which can be used to electronically trim power supply timing and voltage parameters. Trimming power supply parameters in software (digital power management) rather than manually results in more accurate, reliable and repeatable calibrations and also shortens calibration time. To take advantage of this capability, the company has developed a software routine and interface hardware that automates calibration of power supplies based on the ADM1041. The calibration routine is described here.
