Focus:
The single-ended primary-inductance converter (SEPIC) exhibits complex control characteristics. Vorperian's PWM switch model offers a good means for performing ac and dc analysis on the SEPIC. PSpice can also be used with the benefit that it accounts for parasitic resistances. Design tips and pitfalls for the SEPIC are noted.
