Using Thermistors in Temperature Tracking Power Supplies

by no author specified, Maxim Integrated Products, Vendor website, Nov 29 2001

Focus:
In applications such as LCD display bias supplies it is sometimes necessary to vary power supply voltage with temperature. This can be accomplished with linear and switching regulators by inserting an NTC thermistor in the feedback path of the regulator. Operation of NTC thermistors is explained along with techniques for making their output vary linearly with temperature and for using NTC thermistors with linear regulator ICs and switching regulator ICs to design temperature-tracking power supplies.
