Focus:
In part 2 of this article series, the author continues the design of the main transformer TX1 by estimating the ac copper losses in the PCB windings for TX1. In calculating secondary losses, the author notes the absence of proximity loss as a benefit of planar PCB construction. Following these calculations, the author describes the allocation of layers in the PCB stackup.
